About the game

Betta grew out of the developer's childhood in Thailand, scooping wild bettas from rice-field puddles after school. In the game you pick your first betta, give it a name and watch it swim in a living 3D aquarium. Pair a male and a female, watch them build a bubble nest, and hatch fry that inherit real genetics: tail shapes, colours, dragon scales, koi patterns and hidden genes you only discover by breeding.

Real genetics. 16 tail types, from Halfmoon and Crowntail to Double Tail, and hidden carrier genes to uncover.
A tank that lives. Day and night follow the phone's clock, the betta sleeps at night, and players add tank mates, plants, decorations and night lights.
The buffalo's mud puddle. Wade in with a hand net to scoop tadpoles, crabs, snails and, if you are lucky, a wild betta.
A shared pond. Release a fish for everyone to adopt, or swim among snakeheads and turtles hunting for the day's pearls.
Friendly battles. Steer your fish in short arena fights. No fish is ever lost, and nothing is ever wagered.
Seasons. Story chapters, a season pass and festival events, such as the Festival of Lights in November 2026.
